Math

We worked on Mrs. Wickland's challenge of the week. If the green triangle is worth 1, then what are these whole shapes worth? We think that all of these shapes are equivalent to Mrs. Wickland's total of 26. Do you agree, parents?

We also started work on our Fraction/Decimal/Percent/Ratio centres. There are lots of hands on and paper and pencil activities to help us understand the relationship between fractions and decimals.

The learning expectations are:

This week we completed another school wide write about inventions. Our story
writing has really improved since the first SWW. We have become experts at
including strong verbs and interesting dialogue tags. Next we will work on
adding in some more description, including the 5 senses.

This week we also finished our novel, The World Below. We really enjoyed all of the
action in the book and were interested to see how the characters changed over
time. What should we read next?
